Cascades Inc., a not-for-profit organization, is hosting an arts and crafts show in conjunction with the 24th Annual Cascades Civil War Muster at Cascade Falls Park in Jackson, Michigan. Cascade Falls Park offers a delightful atmosphere in which to buy and sell your original work. Approximately 40,000 people converge on the park during the event. Our patrons appreciate arts and crafts and let you know by their purchases and interest in your work. We invite you to apply to exhibit at the Cascades 2008 Arts & Craft Show.
Hours
Cascade Falls Park opens at 7:30 and closes at 11:00 pm. Suggested show hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday August 23 and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday August 24. However, there are scheduled activities in the park until 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and artists may stay open if they desire.
Booth Information
There are 50 exhibition spaces at the event. Booth spaces are 11' x 11'. Please design your booth to include storage area within the space allowed. Artist must furnish their own tents or canopies, display equipment, tables, chairs etc. Electricity is available on a limited basis. Overnight camping is allowed in designated areas. Motels and campgrounds are available, but reservations must be made early and are the responsibility of the artist. Free parking is provided for the artist.
Requirements
If you wish to be an exhibitor in our arts & craft show please fill out completely the online application and send a full payment by mail with six pictures representative of the type and quality of the work to be displayed. Please include a business sized self-addressed stamped envelope with your entry by August 1, 2008.
- Accepted artist must be present on-site throughout the event.
- All work must be the original work of the artist
- No commercially made work is acceptable
- Photographs must be printed from the photographers original negatives
Applications are juried. Notification for accepted exhibitors will be mailed within 14 days of receipt of your application. Refunds will not be given for cancellations received after July 31st 2008.
Registration & Set-up.
We are located on the corner of Randolph and Brown Streets. We are setting up some on grass and some on pavement this year. Please be prepared for either surface. This area will be blocked to all traffic during show hours Saturday August 23 and Sunday August 24.
Registration and setup begin Friday August 22, at 3:00 p.m. and end promptly at 8:00 p.m. Please note that all exhibitors are required to register at the registration tent located in the median at Randolph and Brown Streets. When you check in you will be informed of your booth location and receive your exhibitor badges. Parking and additional information will be available from the registrar
Food will be provided for our exhibitors from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
If you do not finish setting up on Friday you may finish your set-up between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
If you cannot set up on Friday August 22 you must let the committee know in advance!
Tear Down
Tear down begins at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Sunday and must be completed by 8:00 p.m. so that the street can be re-opened.
Nature of Display
The exhibitor agrees to limit the displays to those things that are suitable to the character of the show, (i.e. handcrafted items only). The committee has the right to request removal of any items it feels unsuitable. It is the wish of our Craft Show Committee that this shall remain a craft show. We believe it is in the best interest of the craft show and exhibitors to maintain high quality displays.
